Live Solar Corona (LASCO C3)
This image shows the outer atmosphere of the Sun (the corona) captured by the LASCO C3 instrument aboard the SOHO spacecraft. The bright disk of the Sun is blocked to reveal faint plasma structures and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) moving through space. The image updates regularly and provides a near real-time view of solar activity.
